It will be the 20th Anniversary of the album Hybrid Theory, a hit album by the band Linkin Park in just over two weeks. The band is celebrating the album’s 20th birthday in the best way possible.
Linkin Park has released an album to celebrate Hybrid Theory‘s 20th birthday. What makes this album so great? It has 80 songs, and it’s well over four hours long. What also adds to the album’s value is that it includes the original Hybrid Theory songs, with multiple live performances, other popular songs, demos, unique versions of songs with different artists, and even a couple of unreleased songs.
Linkin Park, a rock band created in 1996, is no stranger to collaborations with other artists. One of their most notable collaborations was Collision Course with American rapper Jay-Z. Collision Course is an album that consists of six tracks. Those tracks are combination songs, with parts of Linkin Park hits mixed in with a few of Jay-Z’s songs. The songs are:
Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You
Izzo/In The End
Points of Authority/99 Problems/One Step Closer
Mike Shinoda, one of Linkin Park’s founders, chatted with twitter fans in real-time as part of a stream party for Hybrid Theory’s 20th Anniversary Album. Shinoda talked about the origins of songs, demo versions, performance stories, and his craziest experience when recording Hybrid Theory. It’s a bit of an odd one, as it involves the band’s A&R guy coming into the studio with a “MASSIVE box of porn.” You can read the rest here:
As a fan of Linkin Park, this album was a fantastic gift. It is by far the best way to celebrate Hybrid Theory’s 20th birthday.
