Lil Yachty Releases New Album and More on New Music Friday
Lil Yachty Let’s Start Here
Lil Yachty returned with a shockingly new and fresh album, Let’s Start Here. His new release is a complete restart on his sound, bringing almost a mesh of psychedelic rap and rock together. The psychedelic influence is noticeable even through the album cover, which is a painting of people who have been disfigured and morphed into a different being.
However, when referring to the album itself, the songs on the track list don’t vary in theme almost at all and can, at some points, sound the same. Therefore, each song sounds just as angelic as the last. The variety in each track is lacking.
Still, this is easily a go-to album when under the influence as the production emits somewhat of a floating aura while pairing with Lil Yachty’s vocals. The vocals throughout Let’s Start Here are similar to the same vocals he used to perform the viral Tik Tok song “Poland.” Not to mention throughout the album are beautifully played electric guitars which add a nice rock element to the production. Songs I recommend are “drive Me crazy!” and “The Alchemist,” along with the amazing and deep dialogue “:(failure(:.”
Overall, this new era of Lil Yachty looks exciting.
“Love Again” The Kid LAROI
The Kid LAROI comes back with another single in the 2023 year. After his single “I Can’t Go Back To The Way It Was” he releases “Love Again” with the opening lyrics, “can we go back to the way it was.” This leads to a common theme emerging and the possibility of his new album The First Time to release in the near future. Lil Yachty’s album was just the start.
“Two Tens” Cordae and Anderson .Paak
Cordae and Anderson .Paak are establishing themselves as quite the duo with now a second collaboration between the two. They performed greatly on “RNP” back in 2019 and did the same in 2023 with “Two Tens.” Definitely a great listen if a fan of either.
“Tally” midwxst and Denzel Curry
The young hyper pop artist midwxst has quickly gained traction over Tik Tok and has shown some promise in his recent discography. Now, he has paired with Denzel Curry to bring one of the best songs on 2023 so far. Easily the first song to listen to this week, then give a listen to Lil Yachty’s Let’s Start Here.
