This one might be flying under the radar, but Liberty QB Kaidon Salter entering the transfer portal is very interesting. He isn’t someone who will be on your radar as a real “guy” for the 2026 NFL Draft, but he brings tons of experience and rushing upside to whatever offense he decides to go to. Salter has played four seasons at Liberty, and for his final season in college he will be taking his talents elsewhere, and there are a handful of schools who should come calling.
During his four seasons at Liberty, Kaidon Salter threw for 5,887 yards, 59 TD/17INT ratio on just 56.4% completion percentage. Where he is dangerous is on the ground, where he’s rushed for over 2,000 yards (1,067 in 2023) and 21 touchdowns (12 in 2023). Yes, he took a major step back this season from where he was the year prior, but I believe that under the right system, he can find that spark again and bring to life any offense he plays under. I would watch for Auburn or Syracuse to be the front-runners for Salter, leading more toward Syracuse. Look what Fran Brown did for Kyle McCord, imagine what he could do with an extremely mobile QB who can push the ball down the field?
Am I trying to tell you that Kaidon Salter could lead your team to a National Championship? No, I am not. However, I do believe that he could elevate a middling offense to become a real wagon with the right coaching and weapons around him. His rushing upside alone should have schools calling, and if you can get him into a quick read, short throw, RPO offense I would expect that team to perform well. He may not be a world-beater, but he is most certainly someone to keep an eye on once the transfer portal opens.
