Leon Edwards Is The Most Overrated UFC Fighter In The History Of The Sport

I’m really not sure what the difference is between Malcolm Butler and Leon Edwards. Both had one really cool moment and were unnecessarily crowned for it. Butler was in the right place at the right time in that Super Bowl victory interception. Ditto for Leon Edwards, who had one really cool head kick.

The rest of the resume in the UFC is incredibly… meh.

Can we just be honest about Leon Edwards? He’s easily the most overrated UFC fighter in the existence of the sport.

The head kick was awesome.

Then he beat Kamaru Usman again after he clearly was washed up and still scared of being kicked in the head again.

The rest of his career is a total sham.

What’s the signature win otherwise? Submitted by Sean Bradley. Lost to Belal Muhammad once and probably should have lost the first time too. He’s got two other losses to nobodies and lost to Usman when Usman was actually in his prime.

At the end of the day, we’re talking about an incredibly average fighter who gets chewed up by any high-level wrestler. By the way, we’re not talking about a guy who is over the hill. Edwards is 33 and already borderline donezo. His championship run was built on the back of a fluke, and his entire career is a resume built on nothing. Any high level wrestler takes out Edwards with ease in any era. No question about it.

Congrats on having some height and some striking skills. Otherwise, this idea that Edwards is a high level championship fighter is a lie, in the same way that anyone tried to pretend Malcolm Butler was a number one NFL cornerback.
