The Houston Texans already had one of the worst running back groups in the NFL. That was before Lamar Miller got hurt. The Texans starting running back has suffered a torn ACL. Miller hasn’t played a snap in the preseason prior to suiting up Saturday against the Cowboys. On his first carry of the year, Miller was carted off. Unreal.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network first reported the news:
This is the play Miller got hurt on. I can’t believe just like that one play in and donzo.
Duke Johnson is now your starting running back. The funny thing is he was the
Poor Deshaun Watson. This is a guy who already didn’t have barely any help. Now he loses his starting running back and best pass protector running back. This offensive line already stinks. Losing a reliable blocking running back stings in more ways than one. I’m curious to see how Houston replaces him. None of them other than Johnson have proven anything.
What a rough day in the AFC South. Miller goes down. Nothing trumps Andrew Luck retiring. While the Miller injury hurts the Texans, somehow their odds as repeating as AFC South champs have improved with Luck calling it quits. What a weird turn of events.
