Lamar Jackson Is Pissed He Still Stinks Throwing The Deep Ball
Lamar Jackson is the Rudy Gobert of the NFL. The sooner you people accept that the better off you will be. Looks great when the leaves are falling. Not so much when you need a throw or a clutch free throw when the games really count. The Ravens quarterback wants you to know that it bothers him that he still stinks at throwing the deep ball.
“I’m pissed off about it, to be honest with you,” Jackson said Tuesday. “I watched the game, and it’s like it might be a difference in the game if we connect with that one.”
Jackson, 26, is completing 70.3% of his throws on the season. However, he’s just 24th in the league with a 32.4% completion rate on passes of 20 yards or longer. Jackson has not thrown a touchdown pass that is 20 yards or longer. 20 different quarterbacks have accomplished that feat this year.
We know how this story is going to go. The Ravens are good because they’re always good. They were good with Trent Dilfer. They were good with Joe Flacco. Once again they can run the ball really well and play defense. Can Lamar make a big throw when it really gets cold late in the season? That’s always been the question and the answer has always been no. He’ll get another chance to do this year as the Ravens are poised to make the playoffs once again as they normally do under John Harbaugh.
