Khris Middleton Isn’t Good Enough To Help Win Bucks A Title

As soon as Malcolm Brogdon signed with the Pacers, I knew right away that the Bucks will not win the championship. They needed Brogdon and Khris Middleton to win a championship. Yes, the Bucks have the best record in the NBA. Yes, the Bucks have arguably the best player in the NBA in Giannis Antekounmpo, who’s poised to win MVP again. That’s fantastic, however, the NBA titles have been more about the better team, not just one or two players. I mean, not even Lebron in his prime could win without Wade and Bosh, or Kyrie and Love. Usually, only having one other prolific scorer is not enough to win a title.

Khris Middleton Stats

Khris Middleton stats have been great this year, I just don’t think it will be enough to win a title. He is currently averaging 19 PPG on 48.9% shooting, 3.8 APG, and 5.6 RPG. His numbers have actually dipped this year compared to last year. His numbers were logically supposed to increase being the clear #2 option for the Bucks after the Malcolm Brogdon left. This obviously isn’t good because the Bucks were expecting more production from Middleton.

When it comes down to it, once you get to the playoffs, it who you are playing in the best of 7 series. The regular season is just about seeding. At this point, Bucks will be the clear #1 seed in the East and will probably beat whoever the 8th seed is. When it comes to the 4th or 5th seed is where it will get interesting. Sure, Giannis is as dominant as ever in his career, but is that enough? He had an off game against the 76ers herculean defense on Christmas and they got blown out. Khris Middleton couldn’t take over in the game once Giannis wasn’t playing well. That is very telling about this Bucks team. It strengthens Giannis’ MVP case in terms of how valuable he is, but it also says that this Bucks team isn’t nearly as good without him.

If Giannis is taken out of the game offensively, their chances of losing increase exponentially. Sure, that is easier said than done, but it will be done, probably multiple times. For that exact reason, I can’t see this Bucks team winning a title. Khris Middleton can’t take over for the Bucks if Giannis can’t. Their worst mistake was letting Brogdon walk. They’ll find that out soon enough.
