Phil Kessel is going to be a free agent this summer. While he is nowhere near the player that signed an 8-year, $60+ million deal, he still could add something to a team looking for an offensive punch. However, the bidding war could take an interesting turn. Barstool Sports released a bombshell piece about the Hot Dog-loving sniper. Apparently, Coca-Cola is the way to wash down a nice glizzy according to Phil the Thrill. He could certainly find a new home in free agency unless the Coyotes take desperate measures. Along with putting the “C” on his jersey, they could also offer a whole arena’s worth of two C’s in a bottle or can form. With two rings on his fingers, he could obviously focus on other things. A nice contract for the twilight of his career and as much soda as you could drink would probably be a good place to start.
As if there wasn’t enough drama to come from Kessel’s stint in Toronto, this is just another hilarious story. With or without some Coke, do the Leafs somehow get past the Bruins in 2013? I think the answer remains no. In all seriousness, this soda news is the latest of stories from Kessel that will put a smile on your face. From his hilarious photos with Team USA to winning Big Macs for a happy crowd during his Pittsburgh days, the guy seemingly outdoes himself when it comes to funny content. In my eyes, he can do no wrong. Being a lethal weapon alongside Crosby and Malkin gives him the right to eat hot dogs out of the Stanley Cup. Who’s gonna stop him? He’ll still score goals AND sip some Coca-Cola during the intermission. It’s Phil Kessel’s world and we’re just living in it.
