Kevin Love Trade Rumors: Cavaliers Are Listening To Offers

I am not saying I am psychic, but I literally just mentioned yesterday in my article why I don’t understand why the Cavs are holding on to Kevin Love. The same day, the Cavs read my article and said, “Chick is right, why are we holding onto Kevin Love?” They decided to listen to offers. That is EXACTLY how it happened, okay maybe not, but it is coincidental. The Cavs are finally making the right decision. With the Kevin Love trade rumors heating up, they don’t need a high-quality player like Kevin Love to slow down the rebuild. They need to trade Kevin Love for picks and young players.

Kevin Love Trade Rumors Teams

There’s already a couple of teams that seem to be interested in trading for Kevin Love allegedly. A repeated rumor is a team I mentioned before, the Portland Trail Blazers. The issue with that team is if they don’t trade Hassan Whiteside, the contracts can be a little tricky.

Boston Celtics

Another team that came up was the Boston Celtics. While at first glance this seems like a great idea, I hate it. The Celtics do not need a big man if their success hasn’t already implied that. The 5 that are holding that team up are Kemba Walker, Gordon Hayward, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, and Jayson Tatum. Those should be untouchable for the Celtics. That roster doesn’t make much sense but they’re still a very good team. They’re proving they just don’t need one. But even if they did need one, or even want one, their contracts make it almost impossible to get it done. The Celtics would either trade Kemba, who’s having a stellar year, or Gordon Hayward, Brad Stevens’ favorite. this option isn’t feasible.

Denver Nuggets

An interesting team that I didn’t think about is the Denver Nuggets. I love this Nuggets team, it is a deep squad that all mesh well together. It’s hard to think that the Nuggets would even try to do any maneuvering of that roster given that it has performed well last year and will be a dynasty for years to come. BUT, you knew it was coming right, the Nuggets could technically make their roster better here. The odd man out on this Nuggets squad is Paul Milsap, at least what I can see. Coincidentally, their contracts are similar and a swap could be good. Another alternative would be to trade Will Barton and Mason Plumlee for Kevin Love. Both of these trades could work, but without picks to sweeten the deal for Cleveland, I don’t know if it happens.

Miami Heat

The last team that I have seemed rumored to be interested in Kevin Love is the Miami Heat. In my personal opinion, this team has contracts to work in many different ways and can be very versatile in trade talks. I think this deal will need picks regardless for Cleveland to take the deal. But Miami could meet the needs of Cleveland the most and would be the most negotiable.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are doing the right things for their team. They are in a total rebuild and Kevin Love should not be a part of that process. The Cavs do plan on re-signing Tristan Thompson, so expect him to be a part of the long-term plan. Although listening to offers doesn’t mean that Kevin Love being traded is a done deal, but if they want to make their time useful, it is the right way to go.
