It has been an interesting tenure at Barstool Sports for Liz Gonzales, and now she is getting back into the content game with Kayce Smith and their new show called Loud and Complicit. Both women started their media careers at mega-companies like ESPN and CBS, but since leaving traditional media, both have shined.
Gonzales announced the new show with a blog and detailed what it will be about.
“Loud & Complicit is an honest look inside the bullshit and beauty life brings to two unmarried, childless, career-driven women in their 30s. Dating, sex, friendships, fights, the media, ticking clocks, expectations, mental health, failures, disappointments – nothing is off the table”

I guess I really shouldn’t be surprised at the timing of this news, Alex Cooper and Call Her Daddy are about to leave the network, so Kayce and Liz are going to attempt to fill the void. Everyone understands that is a near-impossible task for the duo to accomplish, but this does have some potential for fireworks.
Their rivalry formed because of “only room for one of us” feelings between them, and I am sure that will be addressed in the first episode on June 15th. The other interesting part about all this lies in the name, Complicit. Barstool is often criticized for its lack of diversity and accused of being misogynistic. Smith and Gonzales are going to talk about these issues that seem to arise far too often for Barstool.
If they could bring in some of Barstool’s biggest rivals like Sam Ponder and Katie Nolan, who have all spoken out against the company, that could open doors that were once slammed shut.
