JP Morosi Might Be A Terrible Reporter

When you’re getting owned by Bob Nightengale, that’s never a good thing. We’ve already established that Nightengale is pretty terrible in his own right. When Nightengale owns you, that immediately is a red flag. Except… that’s exactly what happened with JP Morosi.

It’s been a rough offseason for Morosi. Awful Announcing did a pretty good job covering this. Even Twitter marked Morosi’s information as false. Of course, we also know now that Ohtani has signed with the Dodgers.

A representative of his agency, CAA, would not comment when asked about Ohtani’s travel plans.

But wait… there’s more.

Morosi also severely jumped the gun on the Juan Soto news. Morosi said the trade was being finalized. It took another handful of hours for the trade to actually go through.

Bob Nightengale Should Realize his Actions of Spreading Misinformation

This stuff just can’t happen. This is MLB.com. Let me say that again. This is MLB.com. Ken Rosenthal was actually a good reporter and MLB dumped him. That just should have never happened. Now Rosenthal is stuck behind that trash paywall at The Athletic. What more is there to say?

Morosi has to earn back this trust. Based on following him for an extended period of time, he’s officially on the banned list here at Vendetta. If he reports news, we’re going to go ahead and wait it out until we get confirmation from more reliable sources. It is what it is. MLB.com needs to ask themselves serious questions because this just can’t happen.

I don’t hate Morosi. I wanted to root for him. It’s cool that he knows 800 different languages. It just doesn’t really matter when you stink at reporting information.
