It is a real possibility that Jorge Masvidal competes in the WWE. The MMA superstar is one of the biggest pay-per-view stars in the industry and could parlay that into a massive paycheck from the world of professional wrestling.
In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Masvidal spoke about the possibility of joining the WWE. All quotes via Fightful.
“If the shoe fits, wear it,” Masvidal said in an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated. “I’m very busy, but if the compensation makes sense, then let’s do it.”
The path to getting Masvidal is not over-sophisticated. If you pay him properly, he will show up and put on a show.
Masvidal retired from MMA at UFC 287 after losing a decision to Gilbert Burns. Now, he is exploring other avenues of combat sports and has promoted several of his own events.
Masvidal could be an interesting character in professional wrestling. In MMA, he gained notoriety for being a true fighter that started his career fighting in the streets of Miami, Fla. That personality could easily be adapted for the WWE.
“If the WWE wants a savage like me, then sign me up. I’ll go over to WWE and domesticate those guys,” Masvidal said.
Masvidal already has plans for what he would do if he joined the WWE. Furthermore, he has already found an angle for himself.
“I love fighting. If I go to WWE, I’ll put a hurting on them every night. I’ll torture them, make life f—— hell for all of them. No one over there can beat me,” Masvidal said.
Masivdal does have experience in professional wrestling. The exciting striker developed a working relationship with AEW and appeared in the promotion on several occasions alongside other notable MMA figures.
Should the WWE bring Masivsal into the fold or have fans seen enough MMA fighters in professional wrestling? Let us know in the comments.
