The Mets clearly weren’t happy about this. Lopez was then asked about what happened post game. You’re going to want to see this.

I asked Jorge Lopez if he regretted throwing his glove into the stands. Not only did he say no, he then called the Mets “the worst team in the whole f—cking MLB.”

You heard that correctly. Lopez called the Mets the worst team in MLB and then said he might be gone tomorrow. Turns out he’s gone while I’m in the middle of writing this.

Andy Martino has reported that Lopez will be DFA’d because of his comments after the game.

Steve Cohen Is A Moron, The Mets Will Never Win With Him

What do you even say? The Mets do suck. Lopez was very much telling the truth. It’s just not the point. This presser after the game was totally Looney Tunes but it exemplifies truly how dysfunctional the Mets are right now. I tried to warn you this was coming but Steve Cohen continues to think he will win without me. He will live to regret that choice.

Lopez, 31, will finish his Mets tenure with 27 appearances while sporting a 3.12 ERA. He’s the least of their problems on the field right now and has given them at least acceptable innings in the bullpen. This was his first season with the Mets and I think it’s safe to say he won’t be back.
