Jonathon Brooks just can’t catch a break on the injury front. Brooks, the rookie second round running back out of Texas, is back on the shelf after starting the year on PUP. 13 months after tearing his ACL in his right knee, he’s now done it again, which will subsequently rule him out for the remainder of the 2024-25 NFL Season.
The Panthers team website was the first outlet to reveal the news:
“CHARLOTTE — Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks’ rookie season is over after three games.”
“Panthers head coach Dave Canales said that Brooks tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in Sunday’s loss to the Eagles, and will be out for the rest of the season.”
Just a disastrous turn of events for the second round pick whom Carolina traded up for. It’s the same knee he hurt the first time. Given that fact, it’s probably going to take even longer to return this go around.
The bad part is Brooks really wasn’t productive in the short sample size this year. The former Texas product averaged 2.4 yards per carry on his nine attempts this season.
Not that we’re celebrating because injuries suck but I’d kindly like to remind you the Vendetta Sports Media draft department had a 7th round grade on Brooks. We also told you to not pick him in fantasy. I can only lead a horse to water. I can force you to drink it. If you fell victim to the Brooks hype this year, I don’t feel bad for you in terms of fantasy.
