Jon Jones, Stipe Miocic bout booked for UFC 295 in November

At UFC 295, Jon Jones, the greatest MMA fighter of all time, will attempt to defend his newly earned heavyweight championship against Stipe Miocic. The card is set to go down at Madison Square Garden in November. Dana White made the bout official at the UFC 290 ceremonial weigh-ins.

Jones is looking to defend the UFC heavyweight championship for the first time in his career. At UFC 285, the former light heavyweight champion won the title in dominant fashion over Ciryl Gane to become a two-division champion.

Jones already has already cemented his legacy, but a win over Miocic, undoubtedly the greatest heavyweight in UFC history, would add another massive gem to his resume.

In essence, this bout is the greatest fighter of all time against the best heavyweight of all time–there will be a lot on the line at UFC 295.

Miocic, the former UFC heavyweight champion, is looking to regain the title that he lost in his last fight against Francis Ngannou. Prior to that loss, he earned two wins over Daniel Cormier in their trilogy.

It is a real possibility that Jones, 35, calls it a career after this fight. In the past, he has stated a fight against Miocic may be his last, though possible bouts against Ngannou or Tyson Fury may be appealing enough to keep him in the sport.

It would not be an absolute shock if Miocic retired as well. At 40-years-old, he is certainly in the latter portion of his career. In fairness, he has not openly discussed retirement.

UFC 295 will be a massive event as legacies will be on the line and legendary fighters could be on their way out the door.
