JK Dobbins: ‘No-Brainer’ To Join Broncos

JK Dobbins wanted to return to the Chargers. That just wasn’t going to happen after they selected Omarion Hampton in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Dobbins eventually found a home with the Denver Broncos, and the Ohio State product appears happy with his new landing spot.

VIA ESPN:

“[The] defense is really good, like super good, the quarterback is amazing, I like the [running backs] room, as well, the O-line is amazing, as well,” Dobbins said. “It was a no brainer — coach Sean Payton … I know I’m going to get coached well here.”

Dobbins, 26, now joins a backfield that includes Jaleel McLaughlin, Audric Estime, Tyler Badie, and, most notably, new incoming second round pick, RJ Harvey. With the Chargers, Dobbins likely would have been third on the pecking order behind Najee Harris, Hampton, and the team appears to be quite high on Kimani Vidal still.

The former Ravens and Chargers back wants to bring a championship to Denver and is gearing up to play his old team twice a year.

“Yeah, that was a little weird,” Dobbins said. “But that was something for my agent to handle — [but] good luck to them, I’m a Bronco now, they’ve got to see me twice a year. Of course I’m going to have a chip on my shoulder, but here I’m worried about winning. I don’t want to just beat the Chargers, I want to get a ring.

“That’s my goal, just to bring a Super Bowl to this city.”
