Jimmy Graham: Any Fantasy Value In Saints Reunion Tour?

Yes, we are heading into the 2023-24 NFL Season and Jimmy Graham is actually back with the Saints. I’m also semi convinced that Graham only knows how to play for New Orleans. After disappointing stops in Seattle, Green Bay, and Chicago, could Graham get back to fantasy relevance in his Saints reunion tour?

I’m also semi-convinced that Graham only knows how to play for the Saints. Graham has 85 career touchdowns. 51 came in the five-year stretch with New Orleans. If anyone is going to figure out how to squeeze any remaining juice out of Graham, it’s the Saints.

For starters, Graham is 36 now. He’s not exactly a spring chicken. He’s also not even a guarantee to make the roster. New Orleans has a ton of tight end depth on the roster right now. The former Miami product is battling for playing time along the likes of Juwan Johnson, Foster Moreau, and Jesse James. Oh, and Taysom Hill however you want to classify him.

The Saints could also opt to keep fewer wide receivers so that Graham has a place on the roster. It’s not like you trust anyone outside of Chris Olave on this Saints team anyway. If Graham sticks, the more likely scenario is that he’s used in red zone packages and finds a way to score some touchdowns. You will also never know when to start him and he’s going to be a zero in several weeks.

By now, it’s not a secret that I’m really high on Juwan Johnson as the sleeper tight end in fantasy. The most likely scenario is that Graham becomes annoying in the fact that he prevents Johnson from that true breakout season. There was already concern that Taysom Hill was going to do that anyway.

Long story short; Graham probably doesn’t have any fantasy value unless you’re in a touchdown premium tight end league that’s somehow also best ball. I’m sure someone out there is in that kind of league!
