Jenny Taft Fires Back At Skip Bayless Over Ignorant Comments

“Undisputed” host Jenny Taft clapped back at Skip Bayless over his comments regarding Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy. The two got into a shouting match while discussing HBO’s Hard Knocks, which features the Dallas Cowboys. Skip and Shannon were discussing a motivational speech McCarthy made on Hard Knocks, but Skip took a shot at Mike McCarthy’s physical appearance, saying that his “heavy set” nature makes it more difficult for him to motivate Cowboys players.

“This is just personal preference on my part. I’m not taking a shot at him about this, but he’s a little heavy.  And I wouldn’t my head coach in the National Football League to not look the part at all because you got to stay in some semblance of condition to show you know who you are and have some confidence in yourself, right? He was just unimpressive across the board. I’m giving him no checkmarks.”

Skip Bayless has made plenty of bad takes, but I do not think he has ever made one this stupid. What does a head coach’s appearance matter when it comes to the ability to lead a team? While McCarthy is lacking as a head coach, that is in no way due to his weight. Taft rightfully went after Bayless, expressing that his comment was not a fair jab to take at McCarthy.

Taft: I don’t think that’s a fair shot whatsoever. 

Bayless:  I said it was a personal preference . I wouldn’t want him to be my head coach.

Taft: I’ve actually had plenty of coaches that have not had the perfect ideal physique including my college coach. So I don’t think that’s a fair shot.

Bayless: Yeah…. Ummm…. Okay…Next…. Yup….

Taft: And I’m allowed to have an opinion Skip! I’m allowed to say whatever I want to say on on this show as you do too.

Sharpe: Come on guys. We’re a team! 

Bayless: Yeah…. Ummm…. No

Two things. First, good on Jenny Taft calling out Bayless for being an idiot. Second, Skip Bayless loves to be right and cries when he is wrong. He was visibly upset in the clip and could not fathom why someone would ever call him out for something so incredibly stupid. Be better Skip Bayless, you sound dumb when you make statements like the one you made about Mike McCarthy’s appearance.
