Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is at the forefront of a PSA involving fireworks. After returning to the NFL after a terrifying fireworks accident, Pierre-Paul is showing the world the dangers of fireworks.

The PSA which can be seen above is made with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. It first premiered on ABC’s “Good Morning America”.

JPP lost a large portion of his hand during a 4th of July accident a year ago. His entire index finger is missing from the accident. It caused him to miss a large portion of the 2015 season and lost about $8 million in the process after signing a prorated portion of the franchise tag.

In a split second it blew off my whole hand,” Pierre-Paul said. “All I could do was think about my son and was I going to make it. Now I’m truly blessed to be alive. Now when I look at fireworks I think about safety.”
