Jarrad Davis Suffers Major Injury, Out For 2023 NFL Season

The Giants suffered a major loss before the preseason has even begun. Linebacker Jarrad Davis has been ruled out for the 2023 NFL Season after suffering a significant injury. Davis made a strong impression with New York after joining in Week 17 of last year and then later re-signing this offseason. The Giants will now have to find a way to replace him.

Giants’ LB Jarrad Davis suffered a season-ending knee injury during OTAs that landed him on injured reserve today and ended his 2023 season.

Davis, 28, started last season on the Lions’ practice squad. Bobby Okereke will man one of the starting linebacker spots for the Giants. Two 2022 draft picks are expected to fill the void of Davis. The other starting job will go to former fifth-rounder Micah McFadden or sixth-rounder Darrian Beavers. This isn’t the only controversy that the Giants are dealing with. They also may not have Saquon Barkley to start the season based on the contract thing that’s going on. That’s obviously going to be a much bigger loss than Davis would be if that were to happen.

If the Giants want to look for external options at linebacker, Deion Jones remained unsigned and on the free agent market. Kwon Alexander and Myles Jack are on the free agent market as well.
