James Harden Thinks He Is The MVP – Is He Right?

There is no question that James Harden is one of the most dominant players in the NBA this season. But, it is a tough competition for MVP this season. No one man is standing out at this point. However, with LeBron James out with an injury for the next couple of weeks, he has probably fallen out of the latest Kia MVP Race. This means Harden has entered the top 5.

“Do I feel like I belong in it? I feel like I am the MVP,” the Brooklyn Nets star said. “I mean, it’s just that simple. I don’t want to be speaking individually on myself. I am just going to leave it at that.”

“Numbers are showing it for itself, and we’re winning. That’s all I can say.”

“I just go out there every single night and try to give my teammates everything I can bring to the game,”

You can read the full story here.

James Harden was the MVP back in 2018 and he is putting together another great season. He is currently averaging 25.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 11.2 assists. He’s shooting at a 46.8 percent clip from the field, 36.2 percent from three, and 86 percent from the free throw line.

For Harden, to come out and say that he is the MVP, that is a little obscure with how well so many stars are playing this season. Yes, he deserves to be in the consideration. But, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers, Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, and Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers are all having MVP caliber seasons.

It’s nice to see the confidence but its kind of a discredit to the other star players in the league.
