Jamahal Hill Arrested After Alleged Domestic Violence Incident With Brother

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill was arrested after an alleged domestic violence incident with brother. TMZ was the first to report the news.

Hill was arrested in Kent County, MI, and was released the same day he was booked. Prosecutors charged Hill with one count of misdemeanor aggravated domestic violence.

TMZ’s report stated Hill assaulted his brother, James Anthony Hill Jr., and inflicted “serious or aggravated injury upon him.” Hill is set to go to court over the incident in January.

Hill’s manager, Brian Butler of Sucker Punch Entertainment, released a statement regarding the incident. The statement claims the allegations were false and Hill assured he was innocent.

“The recent “click bait” headlines about [Jamahal Hill] were based on an alleged dispute between him and his older brother,” Butler wrote on X. “Jamahal adamantly maintains his innocence and denies the false accusations. We will not be commenting anymore about this until the truth comes out in court.”

Hill earned the light heavyweight title in January at UFC 283; however, his title reign was short-lived as he was forced to relinquish championship status after rupturing his Achilles tendon. In the aftermath of his injury, Alex Pereira defeated Jiri Prochazka to claim the divisional throne.

The former light heavyweight champion is expected to return from injury and fight for the title. At UFC 295, UFC CEO Dana White proclaimed Hill the next light heavyweight title challenger.

It is unclear if Hill’s legal issues will push the UFC in a different direction. The promotion has not released a statement regarding the allegations against Hill.
