Jalen Carter: “No Question” I Will Be Exonerated

Todd McShay is going to do his temporary victory lap on this one (despite the fact that he has his own substance abuse issues) for calling out the Jalen Carter character concerns. Carter is facing an arrest warrant in a story that broke today.

It turns out Carter may or may not have given out some false details about his involvement in Devin Willock and Chandler LeCroy’s fatal crash. Both charges Carter is facing are misdemeanors at the moment – Mostly for reckless driving. Willock was intoxicated when he suffered his fatal crash. As of right now, there is no proof that Carter was and now there will be no way of proving otherwise. Maybe or maybe not because he lied about his involvement.

Either way, the former Georgia product is very confident that he will be cleared of all charges. Carter put out a statement via social media earlier today.

“It is my intention to return to Athens to answer the misdemeanor charges against me and to make certain that the complete and accurate truth is presented,” Carter said in his statement. “There is no question in my mind that when all of the facts are known that I will be fully exonerated of any criminal wrongdoing.”

Jalen Carter is the best player in the draft from a pure talent perspective. It remains to be seen how far his stock dips because of this incident. If reckless driving is all Carter did, he should still be the first non-quarterback picked come April. It was already announced that Carter is skipping the combine and has left Indianapolis altogether.
