Did the Georgia Bulldogs just find their future replacement for Carson Beck? After Beck leaves this upcoming off-season for the NFL Draft, there were questions surrounding who would take over the starting job. The current QBs behind Beck are Redshirt Sophomore Gunner Stockton and true Freshman Ryan Puglisi. Now, they have landed Arizona State transfer Jaden Rashada. The competition begins now really until Beck departs.
Rashada was a former four-star recruit out of Pittsburg, California. He was the number 44 prospect in the 2023 class and the number six overall Quarterback. He was slated to be the starter this upcoming season for the Sun Devils, but injuries derailed his season and saw him appear in just three games. His frame might scare off some people, as he is 6’4 but only 195 lbs, but he has great mobility and solid accuracy through the middle of the field. Putting on 20 lbs or so should curb some of those concerns and help develop his arm talent, which is average to above average as it stands.
This will be the third school for Jaden Rashada after he was released from his letter of commitment from Florida. It seems like he has found a home at Georgia as he has a great QB to sit under and develop, and a coaching staff who will do nothing but help him mature. He should be considered the front-runner for the starting job for the 2025 season, and depending on how he plays we may see some of that hype return to him that has been lost along the way. If there is anyone who can help mold this player to the potential he has, it is Kirby Smart. I would not be surprised if we see Rashada as the number two QB on the depth chart for the upcoming season.
