I’m not an award guy. I never have been. I threw award all of my medals and trophies away in the trash. But it’s always good to see a guy who never gets the credit he deserves finally get recognized. I have always been protective of Jackie Bradley Jr. There are stretches when Bradley flat out can’t hit but that’s ok. He is the best defensive center fielder that I have ever seen and he finally was recognized. Bradley won his first Gold Glove award in 2018.
About time he’s a #GoldGlove centerfielder! ✨ pic.twitter.com/N9TLRqNCIH

If you have never watched the Red Sox before, one of my favoriting things to watch is Bradley roam center field. Mookie Betts gets all of the glory but there is a reason why he plays right field. Mookie is fantastic and I love him but Bradley is arguably the better fielder. I’m sure there are defensive metrics that can back that up but I don’t really care what they have to say. Some analytics have gotten way out of hand so instead, I’m going to show some of his best defensive plays.
All hail JBJesus for we are not worthy. The amount of runs this game saves is not human. It’s almost like the Red Sox operate with four outfielders and it’s a lot of fun to watch. What’s more disgusting is the fact that JBJ hasn’t won the gold glove every single year he’s been in the league. It’s because he doesn’t hit often. That’s it. Nobody is better. Find me a center fielder that has half of the defensive highlights that Bradley does. I’ll wait.
Watching the Red Sox win the World Series and doing it because of the offense of Bradley was so vindicating. Jackie Bradley Jr. is the most underappreciated centerfielder in baseball and I hope he’s a Red Sox for a very long time.
