Mandy Rose was the talk of the professional wrestling world a month ago.
The former NXT Women’s Champion was released from WWE reportedly because of the content she was posting on her FanTime account. Shortly after the photos surfaced across social media, she lost the NXT Women’s Championship and was released from the organization.
Since getting released, Rose made her first public appearance on the Tamron Hall Show. During the interview, Rose said, “I am so forever grateful for everything that WWE has presented me with, so I can’t sit here and say I was wronged,” (H/T NY Post). When Rose was asked if she would ever return to the WWE, she said “never say never.”
So, will Rose return at the WWE Royal Rumble?
There is a lot of speculation about what Rose will be doing following her release from WWE. Many fans are hoping to see her return to the ring, but it’s unknown when that could be.
If Rose was to sign with a company outside of the WWE, she would have to wait 90 days. Typically, NXT talent has a 30-day non-compete clause, which means if they get released from the company, they can’t wrestle for that period.
However, Rose is reportedly on a main-roster contract, which means she wouldn’t be able to wrestle for 90 days. Rose was seemingly open to re-signing with the WWE, but it’s hard to imagine that she will. After everything that happened when she got released, why would she want to return?
It’s hard to believe that she would return to the company if she wouldn’t be able to continue her FanTime page. On the other hand, it’s hard to believe that WWE would allow her back if she was to keep her page up.
If Rose was to return to WWE, my guess would be the contract would have some clauses in it and she would request a lot of money — as she deserves. Something worth noting is that the Women’s Royal Rumble Match only has seven entrants announced. Meanwhile, the men’s match has 15 entrants announced.
Ultimately, it’s likely we’ll get a lot of surprise returns or debuts in the Women’s Royal Rumble — one of which may be Rose.
