The Molly McCann thing is becoming one of the biggest con jobs in the UFC today. The woman known as Meatball got her ass kicked at UFC London over the weekend. News has since surfaced that McCann will be dropping down to Strawweight. My question is… who cares?
It’s time to just acknowledge that Molly McCann sucks. Losing to Erin Blanchfield at UFC 281 is one thing. Blanchfield is a killer. Losing to Julija Stoliarenko via first round arm bar is egregious. Stoliarenko had a 10–7–2 record heading into the McCann fight and was considered a fringe talent that could easily be axed from the UFC roster.
The card was also in London and the UFC tried to do everything it possibly could to get McCann the win here. She stunk up the joint and lost in the most humiliating way possible. Stoliarenko is a BJJ fighter and locking up an arm bar was pretty much her only chance to win. Well, she found a way to do it in a minute.

McCann, 33, now sports a UFC record of 6-5. If she didn’t have a deal with Barstool nobody would care about her. If she wasn’t deemed as a Paddy the Baddy sidekick, nobody will care about her. Good luck in this new division. It won’t matter. There is no talent here.
McCann has not fought professionally at 115 pound. Is the weight change really going to make a difference here? I doubt it.
