Hilary Duff Will Act and Produce the How I Met Your Mother Sequel

Entertainment Weekly broke the news that Hilary Duff is going to star in a new Hulu series, How I Met Your Father. One of the best shows of the 20th century, How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM), is getting a sequel with the former teenage star.

I honestly can’t believe that this show is even getting touched again. Despite the ending being horrible, HIMYM falls into the same categories as the best of the best. It goes toe to toe with Friends as the best television show of all time.

Depending on how old you are, you either grew up with Seinfeld, Friends, or HIMYM as your top five show of all time. They all pretty much have the same premise, follow a group of friends as they grow up in New York City and have them deal with some of the most absurd stuff.

Sometimes their issues were relatable, sometimes not, but the show always provided a good laugh. There is ZERO reason to take something great and ruin it. Those legendary shows never tried to repeat greatness, so what makes HIMYM different?

“Set in the near future, the show will follow Sophie (Duff) telling her son the story of how she met his father back in the year 2021, when Sophie and her close-knit group of friends were figuring out who they are.”

It is no secret the last two or three years have not been the finest in the history of the United States. Everything is so politically charged and humor was affected the most by this change in society. I really hope Duff and the rest of the producers can just put out a good show and not stain the history of HIMYM.

Bottom Line: Don’t ruin something great, and my gut reaction is that is what is going to happen. Hulu has done great things with Dave and other original content, but I am still skeptical for the Hilary Duff led sequel.
