Has J.T. Miller Apologized to Collin Delia Yet?

J.T. Miller Needs to Man Up

Sometimes you need to put your hand up and admit you’re wrong. J.T. Miller sure does.

This has been a nightmare season for both him and the Vancouver Canucks. Even worse is how he treated goalie Collin Delia. First of all, he is not the coach. He is not the captain for crying out loud. Why in the world does he think he has a right to do what he did?

No one except him knows, I suppose. All I know is that if Miller has any decency left, he should go up to Delia and apologize.

Miller should go one step further. He owes the whole team an apology. The entire roster, coaching staff, front office, etc. This is embarrassing stuff.

For those who haven’t yet seen, check out Miller’s beer league meltdown from a few nights ago:

Like I said, complete beer league. It’s an embarrassment to all professional sports. You’d expect to see this out of the juniors, like Connor Bedard yelling at his goalie to get lost if Team Canada was down. But no, even youngsters have more common sense and respect than Miller.

To make matters worse, he followed it up with one of the most absurd quotes I have ever heard. I’m truly starting to think he lives in fantasyland now. He makes the rules. No one can hold him accountable. Ever since picking up that extension in Vancouver he calls the shots now, I guess.

Head Scratching

Perhaps, maybe it’s not too late. If he calls it an honest mistake and letting his emotions get the better of him, it could be salvaged.

If I’m Collin Delia though, I am really upset. He is clearly waiting for some sign from the coach to go to the bench. In hockey, no one besides the coach should be allowed to make that call. One of the reasons the Canucks’ season has been so miserable is the performance of Miller. He is nowhere near the star he was playing as before the extension.

Elsewhere, I am an Islanders fan. They were on the verge of trading for him at the 2022 draft. However, after all of this, I am honestly happy. A player like Miller would completely ruin their locker room and the chemistry they have built.

Unfortunately, though, I am worried. Lou Lamoriello has a weird obsession with certain players. He obviously got close to adding Miller. If the Canucks pull off a fire sale, does he circle back? I am hoping that it is not the case.

Long story short, Miller needs to read the room and apologize to Delia, because somehow, I feel like things could get even worse if he doesn’t.
