I want you to put your thinking cap on for this one. You’re going to think I’m crazy for saying this, but don’t worry I am a diagnosed crazy person. Sorry, I meant by the end of this, I think you will agree with me. Are we sure DeVon Achane isn’t one of the most valuable assets in dynasty leagues for fantasy football?
It’s hard to quantify how much value Achane has in dynasty formats because I don’t know how he’s even tradeable. Think about the situation that Achane enters next season. By 2024, this is going to be his backfield. That’s while playing in Miami on a team that scores a ton of points. With Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle opening up the entire offense. Achane is averaging 12.1 yards per carry as a rookie. What’s going to happen during a full season with him as the dude?
That’s what you’re getting next year. I’m being dead serious. Is there a running back in the league with more fantasy value other than Christian McCaffrey?
I told you things were about to get crazy here!
Achane, 22, represents everything about the modern running back. Fast, can catch, and versatile to be used in any situation. Run, pass, just get him the ball. Guys like McCaffrey, Austin Ekeler, Tony Pollard, D’Andre Swift, and James Cook are the backs taking over fantasy. Achane comes in that exact mold and is probably the fastest guy in that group.
I’m not sure how much dynasty value Achane has but I can’t imagine that he’s even for sale unless the owner in your league is really dumb. Heading into next year, there is no question that Achane should be valued as a top five back in fantasy. Let’s be ahead of the curve on this one, please.
