Haason Reddick has been that guy, and Jalen Hurts has been loving it, according to the NFL.
The Philadelphia Eagles made some booming moves this offseason, including signing Reddick to a three-year deal worth $45 million. The former Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals pass rusher has revitalized his career in Philadelphia and it’s been noticed by teammates.
Hurts recently commented on his teammate’s massive 2022 season.
“Haason Reddick, he’s been a bad dude all year, and that’s what we need going forward,” Hurts said, via NFL.com.
This year, Reddick has been an absolute force for the Philadelphia Eagles, posting 16 sacks and six forced fumbles in the regular season. Most notably, against the 49ers in the NFC Championship, Reddick had two sacks, a forced fumble, fumble recovery, and three tackles. This was all just in the first half.
Reddick has accumulated 19.5 sacks in this season and is on the precipice of breaking Hall-of-Famer Reggie White‘s record. White posted 21 sacks in his 1987 season. But, with only one game left, can Reddick accomplish this feat? I believe he can.
To say this signing was good for the Eagles is an understatement. Haason Reddick has been a gem for them this season. He has guided this prominent Eagles’ defense to the Super Bowl. He has been the focal point of this stand out defense. With this defense and the Eagles’ historic offense this season, we might see them hoist their second Lombardi Trophy in the last six years.
The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will be battling it out in the Super Bowl on Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. ET. The Eagles are the opening favorites to win it all by two points. Expect to see Reddick make some plays on Super Bowl Sunday.
