Gordon Hayward Signs With The Charlotte Hornets

Gordon Hayward has signed with the Hornets.

This was reported by Adrian Wojnarowski:

Here are Gordon Hayward stats from last year with Boston Celtics: 17.5 PPG on 50% shooting, 6.7 RPG, 4.1 APG. This was his 4th best season for scoring even with a crowded Celtics team that includes Kemba Walker, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and even Daniel Theis. This was his tied for 2nd best season for assists and he averaged more rebounds this year than he has in his career. That could be explained by moving from his original SF position to the 4 as stretch 4.

The Hornets signed him for his ability to score. He may not be the first option anymore like he was on the Utah Jazz, but he can still be a good Robin to a Batman or even a third option. He will be forced to be the first option on the Hornets, however, because of the young talent they have. So far, Devonte’ Graham and LaMelo Ball are the what the team currently consists of as far as talent goes.
