Font’s Five: 2021 NFL Week One, It’s Best Time Of The Year.

Font’s Five is back! It is officially week one and oh how excited I am. I’ve waited a long time for this season to come and finally she has arrived. For those of you that may be new, this is my weekly series where I give my best five plays of the week. Nevertheless, let’s get underway and hit the books early.

Font’s Five: Carolina, Indy, and Green Bay

Carolina Panthers -3.5

Font’s Five starts off in Carolina. I love this game for a multitude of reasons. First, the Jets are not good at all and lack firepower. More importantly, Zack Wilson will be starting his first NFL game, and being a rookie, you can’t expect much from the kid off the rip. Lastly, Sam Darnold’s revenge game reunited with Robby Anderson, and having a healthy Christian McCaffrey in the backfield should give Carolina enough edge to run away with this game.

Indianapolis Colts +3

I am high on the Colts this season and for good reason. Carson Wentz is back with Frank Reich and it’s just the kind of situation Wentz needed. This Colts defense is one of the best in the league and being home underdogs against a flawed Seahawks team is just the game I love. I’m expecting a big week one from the Colts and back them 100%.

Green Bay Packers -3.5

Aaron Rodgers is back in Green Bay for one last ride. However, The Packers had a tumultuous offseason with Rodgers, however, he is back and ready to lite the league on fire. The Packers are leaps and bounds better than the Saints and playing on a neutral field due to Hurricane Ida, I’m rolling with the Pack in this game.

Wrap Up With San Francisco and Buffalo

San Francisco 49ers -8.5

The Niners are heading to the desolate wasteland known as Detriot to take on the Lions. The Niners team is fully rested and healthy after a very unlucky 2020-2021 season. The Lions are in absolute rebuilding mode and are not ready to take on a team like the Niners. Take San Fran and don’t second guess yourself.

Buffalo Bills -6.5

Nobody circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills! Like I said in the Pick Em post which is linked down below. The Bills are geared up for one hell of a season after their deep playoff run. Meanwhile, the Steelers are in a different situation. TJ Watt is holding out who knows how much Big Ben has left. Going on the road in Buffalo I love the Bills to throttle the Steelers.

The picks are in and it’s almost time for football. I can’t wait to see everyone winning big money this season as we stick it to the books.
