Florida State QB Luke Kromenhoek To Enter Transfer Portal

When then five-star prospect Luke Kromenhoek committed to Florida State, he was THE prize of that recruiting class. Kromenhoek was the no. 4 quarterback in the country and the no. 45 overall prospect, billed as the future of the position for the Seminoles. He was to take over once DJ Uiagalelei had left the program. However, On3.com is reporting that Kromenhoek has decided to enter the transfer portal in a shocking turn of events.

Luke Kromenhoek will likely have dozens of schools calling his phone. It’s not every day you get a true (soon-to-be) sophomore who was a five-star recruit hitting the transfer portal. We got a limited sample size from Kromenhoek this year, as he appeared in six games, throwing for 502 yards, 3/2 TD/INT ratio on just 52% passing. Sure, the accuracy numbers are not great but look what he was working with. This Florida State team in 2024 was among the most disappointing arguably in College Football history—limited talent on offense, poor coaching, and a string of bad luck on the injury front. While FSU currently holds the 12th-ranked recruiting class for 2025, Kromenhoek decided to leave anyway.

Luke Kromenhoek could look to leave for a mid-level program where he can start right away and begin to build his legacy or make the move to sit behind a Senior at a major P4 program. Auburn has a huge hole at the position, Indiana, Mississippi State, and USC even, too. As it stands, Kromenhoek is likely among the five biggest names in the transfer portal, and will be a huge player to keep an eye on to see where he transfers to.
