Five-Star Wing Jordan Walsh Commits to Arkansas

Class of 2022 five-star wing, Jordan Walsh, has committed to Arkansas, per an announcement on IG Live with ESPN’s Paul Biancardi.

Walsh is the fifth commit for Razorbacks’ head coach Eric Musselman, who is having a very successful 2022 recruiting cycle. Joining Walsh in Fayetteville next season will be fellow five-star combo guard Nick Smith Jr., in addition to top-100 prospects Derrian Ford, Barry Dunning and Joseph Pinion. The Razorbacks now have a top-three recruiting class, challenging blue bloods Duke and Kentucky for the No. 1 spot.

Earlier this month, Walsh talked to 247Sports about his potential collegiate avenues, saying this about the Razorbacks:

“They are still in the mix because of their coaching staff, environment, and their fanbase. Everyone knows their fanbase is crazy. The coaching staff is well-experienced and Eric Musselman has a history of putting his players in the league. It is also a place where I can focus too.

Walsh is your prototypical 6-7 wing. He displays a good form and solid jump shot, but he is at his best getting to the rim. A high-flyer, any mixtape featuring the Texas native will be quite the show. Whether it’s a two-handed dunk or thunderous one-handed slam, Walsh can elevate with some of the best in his class. An ever-improving decision maker and creator on the offensive end, he has displayed as a capable passer. The aforementioned Smith Jr. projects to be the guy tasked with creating and playmaking for next year’s Razorbacks squad, with Walsh filling a slasher role for the team.

Still, his greatest impact for Arkansas next season may be on the defensive end. His impact on the defensive glass is immediately apparent to anyone who watches his tape. Walsh is extremely disruptive in man-to-man defense. He’s a potential one-and-done prospect to keep an eye on as the Razorbacks challenge for an SEC regular season and conference title next season.
