The idiot Sean Allen is back at it again and the dummy still hasn’t learned his lesson. You would think after I humiliated ESPN’s fantasy hockey expert, he would have learned a thing or two since. The dope has 11 goalies ranked inside the top 100 of his fantasy hockey rankings including Linus Ullmark chilling at 38 overall.
I don’t know who needs to hear this but please do not eat the cheese on Ullmark for fantasy hockey heading into the 2023-24 NHL Season. The regression is going to hit hard and there is virtually no chance that Ullmark finishes that high this season. Please do not take Ullmark ahead of Sidney Crosby like Allen wants you to…
Allen sees but he does not observe. Yes, Ullmark was awesome last year. He was G1 in fantasy last year as the Bruins marched their way toward the greatest regular season in the history of the sport. Allen is essentially ranking Ullmark in a spot where he has to do that again in order to justify the draft cost. It’s completely idiotic. He also somehow has six goalies ahead of that spot which is a different story for another day about why that’s just so brain-dead.
The Bruins aren’t going to be nearly as good this year. I don’t know who needs to hear that but you better figure it out now before it’s too late. When you lose one of the best two-way players in the history of the sport, it’s going to matter. The Bruins currently have no answer to replace Patrice Bergeron after the long time Bruins captain retired. I have no idea how they’re going to replace him and it’s very possible that Boston misses the playoffs entirely. Centers matter more than anything else and the Bruins are lowkey terrible down the middle of the ice now.
Ullmark picked up 40 wins a season ago. His prior career high mark was 26 and that came the year prior with Boston. Conventional wisdom would suggest without Bergeron on the ice, that 26 number is probably a lot more realistic. 26 might even be generous as we now head into year two post Bruce Cassidy. We know that Jim Montgomery is an offensive guy and may try to spark more of a scoring output now that his captain is gone. 20 wins might be the right number TBH.
I think the funniest part of Allen’s rankings is the fact that he also has Jeremy Swayman inside the top 100. Does this idiot actually think the Bruins are going to dominate again like they did last year? Allen sees but he clearly does not observe. Taking Ullmark inside the top 40 while wielding off competition from a strong number two option makes ZERO sense from a fantasy perspective.
Do not draft Ullmark at his current draft price or you will live to regret it. Heed the warning or suffer the consequences later. Who are you going to listen to? The dope Sean Allen or the guy that just pissed on him for three consecutive years? The smart people know to wait as long as possible to snag your goalie. I will never take one inside the top 100 picks. Never.
