Ezekiel Elliott Is Not What He Used To Be. Stay Away In Fantasy

Ezekiel Elliott is a shell of his old self. After coming into the league with a six-pack and track star speed, Elliott’s patented eating celebration has evidently entered his routine off the field as well, and we have not seen him eat the same on the field since. Elliott has still put up the stats over the years and has been durable for the Cowboys, but he has lost some of his burst compared to previous years. He will not gouge you for a 50-yard explosion run, as his game is now more predicated on runs no more than 10 yards down the field.

I am not saying Ezekiel Elliott cannot be a decent running back for your fantasy team. I just do not believe he is worth a first-round pick. His body has tons of miles on it from the Cowboys running the shit out of him over his first five years. Elliott has taken a beating through his first five years in the NFL, and he failed to crack 1,000 yards rushing over 15 games. Some would argue that this was due to COVID-19, but in reality, his body can no longer withstand the hits. I suspect less than 1,000 yards this season from Elliott once again as the Cowboys hand the offense to Dak Prescott and the team’s stud receivers like Amari Cooper.

If Ezekiel Elliott falls to me at the 12th pick, I am not taking him! Of course, I would take the main guys over him: McCaffrey, Henry, Cook, Kamara, etc. I would go even as far as to say I would take Jonathan Taylor, Aaron Jones, Josh Jacobs, and even rookie fantasy sleeper Najee Harris over Elliott. I am really down on Elliott this year based on what I saw last year and where the Cowboys are going with their offensive game plan. Stay away from Ezekiel Elliott in the first round. You will thank me later. If you do take him, I will tell you I told you so.
