Ezekiel Elliott not only led the NFL in rushing yards (1,631), he also led the league in carries (322). Overworking a running back has proven to a genuine concern by NFL teams as most teams use two back systems. Workhouse Zeke Elliot says that he feels great despite getting a ton of carries in his rookie season.
“I feel great,” Elliott said via Cowboys.com. “I feel like I haven’t played a down of football this season.”
“I felt really good out there at practice,” Elliott said. “I feel like it’s a whole new season, honestly. Really refreshed.”
In fairness, the Cowboys did rest him in week 17 and they have an upcoming bye week due to having home field advantage. Elliott has been one of the most explosive players in the league in 2016 and is my pick to win offensive rookie of the year. For Dallas to win the Super Bowl, Elliott is going to have to continue his great rookie season.
