Evgeny Kuznetsov Is The King Of The Shootout

If you had to bet your life on one player to score in the shootout, Evgeny Kuznetsov is the only correct answer. Kuznetsov isn’t a star player anymore but I’m not sure anybody is better at scoring in the overtime shootout.

I’m not exactly 100% positive on when Kuznetsov adopted his technique but the guy basically doesn’t miss in the shootout. A season ago, Kuznetsov notched an 83.3% success rate. He’s back at it again cashing in on his first attempt this year.

It’s the same technique every time. He rolls up on the goalie like a snail and then cashes in the second he sees an opening. Say whatever you want about Kuznetsov. What he does in the shootout is pure art and it needs more recognition. Snooznetsov is a great nickname, by the way.

Anybody that doesn’t appreciate this is a loser. His job is to put the puck in the back of the net and he converts basically every single time. Kuznetsov has declined as a player but he’s still the GOAT at this. The Capitals aren’t the best watch in the league but they’re must-see TV whenever the game goes to overtime. Three-on-three overtime should be its own spot honestly. It’s so electric.
