The battle of the billionaires is heating up. Elon Musk has provided an update on his potential MMA fight against Mark Zuckerberg. Musk provided an update to the bout’s location on X, suggesting that it will go down in an “epic location” in Italy with Ancient Rome being involved.
In all likelihood, the “epic location” that Musk is referring to is the Colosseum. In the past, there have been rumors that the billionaires were interested in fighting in the Colosseum. Musk’s update only strengthens the chances it actually happens. That said, Italy is expected to be the host country and there is no shortage of Ancient Rome history that could be involved in the super fight.
It seems like Musk has already passed the biggest hurdle of booking the location as well. If he truly has Italy’s Prime Minister and Minister of Culture on board, the biggest challenges are in the rearview mirror.
It appears like the UFC will be cut out of the deal as well. Musk specifically stated that his and Zuckerberg’s foundations will manage the bout and not the UFC. That certainly makes sense as it is possible to host the event without the UFC’s assistance. It makes it a little easier to manage and control the product with fewer people involved.
As for the broadcast, Musk and Zuckerberg will split the responsibilities as it will go live on X and Meta.
Lastly, Musk and Zuckerberg will be donating all of the event proceeds to veterans. Considering each man is a billionaire, it is nice that the event will have a charitable aspect to it.
Who do you think wins the billionaire super fight? Musk will be much bigger, but Zuckerberg has Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience. Let us know in the comments.
