The NHL Trade Deadline is fireworks and a super busy time for reporters. Elliotte Friedman is one of the best in the business covering all things hockey and he deserves some damn respect for the work he puts in this time of year. The top reporter over at Sportsnet recently made an appearance on the Spittin Chiclets podcast to talk about the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. One part of the appearance cannot be ignored.
Paul Bissonnette asked Friedman how much screen time he gets on his phone during this time of year. The answer was shocking…
The time stamp is around the one hour and 56 minute mark.
17 hours. 17 damn hours a day! That’s so nuts. That’s a dedication to the craft right there. I don’t care what it is. I couldn’t imagine being on my phone for 17 hours a day. I think I’d die and get sent right into a coma. Seriously, that’s so much mileage on the eyeballs. How do you not get a headache staring at your phone for that long? Does this guy sleep at all?
Even yesterday, this man is breaking news while live on TV doing a guest spot for TNT. How awesome was this? Noah Hanifin goes to Vegas and Friedman aced his TV spot as he usually does.
Friedman is damn good at his job and deserves respect. He’s one of the best reporters in the industry regardless of the sport. He deserves a tip of the cap for all the work he does this time of the year.
