First of all, I wasn’t really even sure why Dwayne Haskins Jr. was benched in the first place. The Washington Football Team (still funny) isn’t even good. Whether they can win the division or not should not have changed whether or not Dwayne Haskins Jr. should start or not. My theory is that Ron Rivera has a secret thing for Kyle Allen (God knows what for). That all started in their time in Carolina.
Haskins isn’t a bad player, he hasn’t been put in the best situation in the slightest. RBs aren’t the best (Antonio Gibson is decent), I’m pretty sure no one other than Washington fans can name another WR they have other than Terry McLaurin. Their whole offense stinks, that can not only be the QBs fault. The Football Team’s defense is young and exciting, they will have plenty of time to grow. It’s time for them to get some help on offense.
Going back to my original point, Dwayne Haskins needs to start. Kyle Allen is now out for the season with surgery. Alex Smith, as great as a story as it is, doesn’t need to start. I’m happy for Alex Smith but he is not part of the long-term plan. Win or lose, the Redski- Erm, the Football Team needs to start Dwayne Haskins. Ron Rivera needs to show now that he hasn’t given up on Haskins and start him over Alex Smith. This is a no-brainer.
Alex Smith couldn’t bring the Football Team to a win over the GIANTS. What more do you have to lose by starting Haskins? I’m not sure Washington loses if Ron Rivera puts in Haskins over Alex Smith. There’s absolutely no reason for Alex Smith to start over Haskins. None, zero, zip.
