The 2019 NFL Draft is a weird one. If you start with the quarterbacks, there is a group of 3 that all legitimately have a chance to be the best of the bunch. The group includes Kyler Murray, Dwayne Haskins, and Drew Lock. All 3 are big wildcards. Could go either way. When it comes to Lock, you know you’re getting a rocket arm. He just might come with a great personality trait too.
Lock was asked where he wants to be drafted. Check out this response:
“I’d 100 percent rather go 32nd to the right team than No. 1 to a bad team,’’ Lock said. “If that happened [being drafted by the Patriots], I’d be honored for sure. Tom’s obviously there for a couple more years, but to be able to sit behind a guy like that and learn from one of the best quarterbacks of all time — if not the best — I think that’s an ideal situation for any quarterback.’’
Talk about shots fired at the Arizona Cardinals. I love this response though. Lock would make a ton more money going first. He would also have that number one pick crown that all players seem to want. Lock isn’t interested in that. He wants to go to the team that gives him the best chance to develop into a franchise quarterback. It’s impossible not to love this response.
I doubt Lock will be on the board at 32 but it’s definitely a great advertisement if he is for ole Billy. That’s the type of quarterback that makes a lot of sense to have sit and learn. You can’t teach the arm talent that Lock has. If you clean everything else up, Lock could be a big time star.
