Donovan Jackson 2025 NFL Draft Profile

Donovan Jackson has been a hero for the Ohio State program during his collegiate career. Can he be another mainstay along the offensive line in the NFL, too? The 2025 NFL Draft profile series is about finding the truth,h and we’ll look to do just that with the Buckeyes guard!

NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 7Week 10Week 13

Jackson, 22, was a five star recruit coming out of high school. The Bellaire, Texas was also the number one guard, seven overall player, and second ranked guard during the 2021 cycle. He spent all four years with the Buckeyes.

As a freshman, Jackson played in all 13 games but was mostly a backup. The next three years, Jackson was a stud for Ohio State including earning First-team All-Big Ten each of the last two years. He played primarily left guard for the program minus the final nine games of his final season at Ohio State. I don’t talk much OL stuff during the stock report notes, but it’s hard to ignore Jackson. That should tell you a lot right there.

I mentioned this in the Josh Simmons profile, but once he got hurt, Jackson kicked out to tackle for the rest of the season. I’m not sure how people are viewing that but he did a damn good job in that role. So much so that it actually felt like the Ohio State line got better once that happened. Jackson is a fantastic guard but the fact that he played tackle that well says a lot about him.

At the Combine, Jackson more than passed the test. I thought it was a fantastic workout and it didn’t look like he was 100% healthy either. If you had any concerns about this player, there was no reason to even think that after his workout. By the way, Jackson also checks in at 6-foot-4, 315, with over 33 inch arms. We don’t have a 40 time, and he’s not a crazy twitched up guy but he’s just a very good football player.

This past season, Jackson gave up two sacks, five QB hits, and 12 hurries. Given that he had to switch spots midseason while playing against really good competition, how can you complain about that? His numbers from the prior two years, when he was simply stuck at guard, were even better too.

I’m a big fan of Donovan Jackson. I have no problem turning in the card for the Ohio State offensive lineman anywhere in the late first/early second round range. If you need a guard, you’re not going to find much better than Jackson in this class.
