Does Tony DeAngelo Have Fantasy Hockey Value With The Islanders?

I just told you to go pick up Jackson Blake in fantasy hockey. But also, maybe you should do the exact same thing with Tony DeAngelo?

After spending half of the season in the KHL, DeAngelo is back in the NHL with the Islanders and looks like his old self already.

Fantasy managers have noticed. I’ve already added DeAngelo on my team but is only owned in roughly 21% of ESPN leagues. That’s up 18.9% in the last week. You can’t wait any longer because that percentage is going to skyrocket if he keeps playing like this.

DeAngelo, 29, has three points in his first five games back. He’s also been averaging 25 minutes per night. Yes, Noah Dobson and Ryan Pullock are hurt right now but I can’t imagine that you’re taking this powerplay job away from DeAngelo. Being an offensive force is what makes him valuable.

Fantasy Hockey: Tony DeAngelo Is Back In Carolina

The Islanders are still the Islanders. They can’t help themselves from being in the messy middle of the Eastern Conference. That part doesn’t matter. This is fantasy hockey and the truth of the matter is defenseman who can put up points are hard to find. I don’t care who you are, you don’t have enough D who can score. DeAngelo is worth the dart throw for that reason alone.

By the way, eyeball test wise he looks really good. Still at a youthful age too. Still stinks at defense but he’s going to block enough shots simply by being in the way on a team who is going to give up chances because they’re the Islanders. Use that waiver move and pick up DeAngelo before your league mate does.
