Disney’s Announcements at CinemaCon 2023

The world’s largest entertainment company, Disney, has just announced several updates to their current projects at this year’s CinemaCon convention. This includes many projects that Disney has been working on both in film and on TV, notably the latest Indiana Jones film, Pixar’s Elemental and more.

The Announcements

A 20-minute preview of the movie Elemental was shown off at the convention, revealing more about the world and characters of Pixar’s latest movie, including the movie’s two main characters, Ember and Wade.

One of Disney’s more interesting projects is that of Wish, a sort of legacy film animated by the company’s own studio. Wish tells the story about how “the iconic wishing star came to be.” As for what happened at CinemaCon 2023, actor Chris Pine has been cast to voice the character King Magnifico, who joins with Ariana DeBose’s Asha in the film’s cast.

Then, there is Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Like with Elemental, the film was given a preview clip as well: a chase scene featuring Harrison Ford’s Indy, Mads Mikkelsen’s Jürgen Voller and Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Helena.

There was also a trailer for Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming movie A Haunting in Venice. The film is based off famous mystery writer Agatha Christie’s book titled Hallowe’en Party — one of many books featuring her famous character Inspector Poirot. The movie is set to release on Sept. 15, 2023.

More to Come?

CinemaCon 2023 ends on April 27, so there is still one more day of the convention. That’s more than enough time for Disney to announce something else — if they have something to announce. They already have a long line up of material, but who knows. Something special may be coming up shortly.
