Dirk Koetter Wants To Fire Himself After Embarrassing Loss To Bears

So Mitchell Trubisky threw for 6 touchdowns today. I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. To put Trubisky’s miracle performance in perspective, he’s only thrown more than one touchdown in a game just once in 14 games prior to this performance. If you’re the Bucs, how can you not just be vomiting all over yourself because they just let a CFL level quarterback put up 48 points? Well, Tampa Bay head coach Dirk Koetter had the perfect response.

“Based on that game today, we couldn’t make enough changes,” Koetter said, via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. We should fire every person that was on that field today, starting with me. That was horrific.”

Is any head coach in the NFL more of a joke than Dirk Koetter? This guy was bailed out to start the season with Ryan Fitzpatrick putting on circus performances left and right winning two of the first three games. Why did he get such a quick hook? Koetter clearly didn’t believe in Fitzpatrick and it obviously affected the rest of the locker room because this team looked lost. Fitzpatrick was putting up record numbers to start the season and he almost benched him for Ryan Griffin! Koetter is right, fire him before he continues to hurt himself coaching this team.

How about Mike Smith? Why is Koetter and Smith a thing? Do they secretly hangout and Netflix and chill or something because this duo flat out stinks? Mike Smith needs to fire himself too because this defense went down the toilet since Lovie Smith left two years ago.

The Lead Word – NFC Draft Review – 5.11.18

Hey, at least Ronald Jones was active today. You know, using a second round pick is probably a good idea considering Peyton Barber is averaging 3 yards per carry on the season. Well, it looks like Jameis Winston is going to start again. Let’s find out if he plays well enough to earn his 5th-year option because that’s the only thing to really monitor.
