Khalil Mack is one of the scariest NFL players on the planet. He’s also one of the elite pass rushers in football. We know this. However, lately, Mack hasn’t been quite himself. Mack has just 5.5 sacks on the year. That’s one fewer than Raiders rookie Maxx Crosby. How in the world can that be? There’s really only one explanation. Khalil Mack quit on the Bears.
Mack doesn’t just have only 5.5 sacks, he has one in his last 6 games. ONE. It’s getting worse too. It’s been 3 straight without a sack. Most recently against the Rams, the former Buffalo product got shut out. No tackles no nothing. Just an empty box score. Khalil Mack doesn’t get shut out on purpose. He just doesn’t care.
It’s hard to blame him. If the Bears don’t score a defensive touchdown and be perfect the whole game, they don’t win. The Bears defense has fallen apart since Akiem Hicks went down too. Mitch Trubisky has been awful. There’s no way around it. Mack has just decided you’re not getting his A game this year until Chicago has a real quarterback. Ryan Pace has to get fired and Matt Nagy better be on the hot seat given the way he has handled the situation.
Who am I kidding? I couldn’t play hard for this team either. The entire situation around Mitch Trubisky is such a joke. He’s not a real quarterback. Never has been. Chicago can’t win like this. I would have requested a trade. Any team that drafts Mitch Trubisky with the 2nd pick in the draft doesn’t have my trust. Mack decided to shut it down. I can’t blame him one bit.
