Desmond Watson 2025 NFL Draft Profile

Desmond Watson has a chance to be the fattest player in NFL history. That’s not even meant to be mean, it’s literally just a fact. Watson checked in at 6-foot-5, 464 pounds at the Florida Pro Day. Watson may be a large human, but is he actually a good football player? Let’s review the Florida nose tackle’s 2025 NFL Draft profile!

Watson was a three star recruit out of the state of Florida during the 2021 cycle. He spent all four years with the Gators clogging up the middle of their defense as a part time player. The stats here aren’t anything outrageous. He had 20 tackles last year with no sacks.

This one is pretty straightforward to analyze. Watson is an early down run stuffer, and he’s pretty good at it. This isn’t some sort of gimmick either. While he’s not some sort of freaky sack artist, Watson has his role and does it well. For 3-4 teams, he’s a great nose tackle for first and second down. Hell, try moving that guy on push tush attempts. Are you telling me you can’t use this guy for that?

I watched a lot of Florida. No, he’s not the most important player ever but he can legit play. This isn’t just some fat guy who’s a gimmick for whom the Gators felt bad. This is very much a real football player.

At the Florida Pro Day, Watson put up 36 reps on the bench and ran a 4.93. Again, this is a run stopping nose tackle. What you see is pretty much what you get.

I genuinely think Watson is a draftable player. Again, this is very much not a joke. I’ve mentioned him several times in the Stock report notes. They should have invited him to the Combine, and they’re pretty dumb not to do so for the extra publicity alone. If I’m a GM, my 7th round pick is set aside for this player at the end of the draft.
