Demeco Ryans: Calls Texans HC Opening His Dream Job

Demeco Ryans is the new head coach of the Houston Texans and if you ask him, Ryans is living out his dream. Ryans was originally drafted by the Texans and there is no other job he’d rather have. Ryans will become Houston’s third head coach in the last three seasons. Nevertheless, it appears the former Alabama linebacker is fired up about the opportunity to coach his former team.

“Being the head coach of the Houston Texans is my dream job and my family is thrilled to be back in H-Town,” Ryans said. “I have been around the game of football my entire life and I’ve always had a natural ability to lead others. I know what it takes to win and be successful in this league as both a player and coach. We’re going to build a program filled with players who have a special work ethic and relentless mindset. I understand the responsibility I have to this organization and to the fans of Houston to build a winner and I can’t wait to get to work.”

Ryans has his work cut out for him taking over a team that has the second pick in the draft. Will Ryans prefer to land a defensive stalwart like Jalen Carter or Will Anderson? Ryans does have that defensive background and could push to land one of those stars on his side of the ball.

Houston also doesn’t have a quarterback and Ryans knows he won’t succeed without one. How aggressive will Houston get in trying to land a quarterback or will they role with Davis Mills for one more year?
